
Dharmendra Pradhan urges states to take initiative to improve schools, says KVs not the sole solution to issues in education
India TodayUrging state governments to undertake initiatives to improve schools in all states, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said in Lok Sabha that Kendriya Vidyalayas are not a solution to the problems in the education sector. CENTRAL SCHOOLS NOT THE SOLE SOLUTION Replying to questions put by various MPs regarding the opening of KVs in their constituencies, the union education minister said, “Central schools are not the only solution the state governments have to find ways.” WHY ARE KVs ESTABLISHED? He added that KVs are primarily established to take care of the educational needs of children whose parents are transferable central government employees including defence and paramilitary personnel, central autonomous bodies, central public sector undertakings and central institute of higher learning.
