Pizza Hut reveals full list of 29 UK restaurants planned for closure

In total, Pizza Hut plans on shutting 29 of its 244 UK restaurants, putting around 450 jobs at risk. A spokesperson for the chain said: “We are doing everything we can to redeploy our team members from our Pizza Hut Restaurants locations that are closing and minimise the impact to our workforce. Here is the full list of restaurants earmarked for closure: Basingstoke Retail Park Brighton City Centre Bury St Edmunds Cambridge, Regent Street Cardiff, Culverhouse Cross Chelmsford, Moulsham Street Croydon, North End Cumbernauld Dunstable Glasgow, Great Western Retail Park Grantham Gravesend Huddersfield, John William Street Leicester, Haymarket London, Leyton Mill London, Stratford Maidenhead Maidstone Newcastle-under-Lyme Oxford Plymouth Royal Parade Salisbury Scarborough Sheffield, High Street Sheffield, Penistone Road Stafford Thornton Cleveleys Weston-Super-Mare Worcester Pizza Hut is the latest high street food chain to announce closures and job losses since the pandemic began in March. Earlier this week, Pizza Express confirmed that it is to go ahead with plans to close 73 restaurants across the UK with the loss of up to 1,100 jobs In a statement, Pizza Express said: “The successful vote unlocks the company's ability to actively address the challenges brought by Covid-19, securing over 9,000 jobs in the UK.
