Macedon cyclists call for Black Forest Drive bike lanes after rider dies

"Black Forest Drive is the only way you can connect Gisborne and Woodend," he said. The current draft design includes an off-road bike path connection from Alex Evans Bridge to Black Forest Drive to separate cyclists from traffic merging from the Calder Freeway. When asked eight questions including how many cyclists had been killed on Black Forest Drive over the past 10 years and whether road authorities were doing anything to improve safety on that road, the Victorian Department of Transport said it would be inappropriate to comment further while a police investigation was underway.
