Chandrababu Naidu says action only after 'concrete proof' in Adani case: Sources
India TodayAndhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has stressed that more proof was needed to take concrete action in connection with bribery allegations involving Adani Green Energy Ltd and the previous YS Jagan Mohan Reddy government, sources said. The allegations stem from court filings by the US Securities and Exchange Commission, which mentions an alleged meeting between Gautam Adani and the then Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy in 2021, as well as subsequent agreements involving the Solar Energy Corporation of India. However, the US Justice Department claimed that an unnamed Andhra Pradesh government official was offered kickbacks to the tune of Rs 1,750 crore, aimed at facilitating state distribution companies to buy solar power from SECI. In November last year, Naidu spoke about the US allegations of bribery involving the Adani Group and the erstwhile Jagan Reddy's regime, saying his government will "assess the situation" and take action based on the evidence.
