WhatsApp introduces new file size limit on animated stickers

India Today

WhatsApp introduced stickers in 2018 but it was only a few weeks back animated stickers also became compatible on the platform. The only animated stickers supported on WhatsApp come from partner developers via the sticker store, which means they have been made in compliance with WhatsApp's guidelines on file size. WhatsApp introduced animated stickers on July 1 globally by adding only a handful of sticker packs in the store. The chat app already supports the static stickers from all third-party apps, in addition to the sticker packs available within its store on Android, iOS, and WhatsApp Web.
