Queensland's COVID-19 quarantine restrictions are changing. What are the close contact rules?
ABCQuarantine requirements have changed for fully vaccinated people who come into contact with a positive COVID-19 case in Queensland. However, under the new rules, fully vaccinated close contacts can move out of home quarantine on day eight, provided they test negative on days one and five of the isolation period. Vaccinated householders identified as close contacts won't need to quarantine at all but they will need to get a test on days one and five, unless they can separate from the contact. Queensland Health says that, if the close contact is 12 years old or younger, vaccinated people who live in the same household as the contact don't need to quarantine but are required to get a COVID-19 test on days one and day five. Queensland Health says travellers would need to enter into government-arranged accommodation if they: have been overseas in the past 14 days from a Queensland safe travel zone country and people who qualify as "overseas travellers") are in a COVID-19 Interstate Exposure Venue in the past 14 days in the past 14 days are a Queensland resident returning home or a new resident relocating to Queensland if they do not qualify as hotspot travellers or a to Queensland if they are a Queensland resident returning home from the restricted border zone if they travelled there for a non-essential purpose and do not qualify as a hotspot traveller.
