Dhobi Ghat in SCB to be new sporting hub
Hyderabad: The Dhobi Ghat Ground in Secunderabad Cantonment is set to transform into a new centre for sporting activities. This was announced after a site inspection on Friday by minister Ponnam Prabhakar, local MLA Sriganesh Narayanan, and Secunderabad Cantonment Board CEO Madhukar Naik. During the inspection, Sriganesh pointed out that the state is keen to strengthen sports infrastructure, a priority supported by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, who has unveiled plans for a Young India Sports University. “The Cantonment has consistently produced skilled athletes, making it a fitting location for this sports complex,” Sriganesh stated, emphasising the government’s focus on nurturing local talent through improved facilities. Addressing the Cantonment’s ongoing infrastructure challenges, Sriganesh noted that the Chief Minister, with his prior experience representing the area as an MP, has shown a special interest in meeting local needs.
