Capital Shame: 13 dead in Delhi as violent mobs wreak havoc, CBSE exams postponed in North East district
India TodayThirteen people have been killed and over 200 injured in clashes between opposing groups of protesters in North East district of New Delhi. As the situation in Delhi continued to worsen, the Delhi Police imposed a curfew on four areas in the North East district and also issued shoot at sight orders on Tuesday evening. The Delhi Police on Tuesday said 11 FIRs have been registered in connection with the violence in North East Delhi. VIOLENCE SWEEPS NORTH EAST DELHI After overnight incidents of arson, tension smouldered in the national capital and as the day progressed streets in several localities like Chand Bagh, Bhajanpura, Gokulpuri, Maujpur, Kardampuri and Jaffrabad saw pitched battles between the members of two groups who also hurled petrol bombs and opened fire. CURFEW IMPOSED, SHOOT AT SIGHT ORDER As violence continued to simmer in North East Delhi over the Citizenship Amendment Act, a shoot-at-sight order in the clashed-hit areas in the city.
