Centre permits Kerala to utilise ₹120 crore from SDRF for rehabilitation measures at Wayanad
The HinduThe Union government on Friday informed a Division Bench of the Kerala High Court that the Kerala government has been permitted to utilise ₹120 crore from the State Disaster Response Fund, which has been set apart for payment to the Defence department towards airlifting service charges provided by the Centre in 2006, 2016, and 2017 for rehabilitation measures for the Wayanad landslide survivors. By virtue of the notification in this regard issued by the Centre, the State government has an opportunity to tap into multiple funding sources for recovery and rehabilitation, such as the Member of Parliament Local Area Development Funds, fund for Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment, as also the recovery and reconstruction window assistance from the NDRF.
