SGOU budget focuses on improving the student experience
Land procurement and construction of the headquarters, scholarship programmes and establishment of various facilities to improve the student experience figured in the budget of Sreenarayanaguru Open University for 2025-26. The budget, which mainly focused on strengthening the university’s academic activities and infrastructure development, also has allocations for upgrading SGOU to a digital global university; establishing a research department; transformation into centre of excellence; and implementing an e-office system for paperless administration in the 2025-26 financial year. The budget allocates ₹26.02 crore for land acquisition and construction activities for the university, and ₹30 crore for a new university headquarters building. While ₹10 lakh has been earmarked for the Weak Scholar Support programme, the Fly High programme, and Pick a Job programme also get allocations to improve the student learning experience.
