2.22 crore land records in Karnataka linked with Aadhaar

A total of about 2.22 crore land records in Karnataka have been successfully linked with Aadhaar by the end of January. The Aadhaar linkage will help in preventing fraudulent registration, ensuring timely assistance to farmers, delivering government schemes to farmers’ doorsteps, and facilitating the issuance of inheritance accounts. A note from Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda on Sunday said that owing to the dedicated efforts of village administrative officers and village assistants, the Aadhaar linkage has been possible. Recognising their efforts, as some even spent money from their own pockets, the State-level review and monitoring committee under the Digital India Land Records Modernisation Programme has decided that an honorarium of ₹1 will be provided per Aadhaar linkage.
