Case against KT Rama Rao over Rs 45 crore payment linked to 2023 Formula-E race
India TodayThe Anti-Corruption Bureau on Thursday filed an FIR against Telangana’s Bharat Rashtra Samithi working president and MLA, KT Rama Rao, over alleged irregularities in hosting the Formula-E race during the previous regime, official sources revealed. KTR has been named the prime accused, with former Municipal Administration and Urban Development Principal Secretary Arvind Kumar and former Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority Chief Engineer BLN Reddy as the second and third accused. This led to a Rs 8 crore fine imposed on the Telangana government by the RBI, which was later paid by the Congress government after assuming office in December 2023. KTR, son of former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, served as the Municipal Administration Minister during the BRS regime, and played a key role in hosting the first Formula-E race in Hyderabad last year.
