'Is There A Need To Continue With Hunger Relief Camps Under CM Corona Assistance Scheme', Delhi HC Directs DLSA To Submit Status Report [Read Order]
Live LawDelhi High Court has directed the Delhi Legal Service Authority to submit a status report stating whether there's a need to continue with the hunger relief camps, providing dry ration to the non-PDS beneficiaries as also providing cooked food to those who are using night shelters provided by the Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board. The application sought a direction to be issued to the Delhi Government to resume the scheme of providing dry ration under the Mukhya Mantri Corona Sahayta Yojana or any other Scheme, to continue accepting E-coupon applications, to continue operating kiosks/helpdesks for facilitating the applicants for receiving the benefit of dry ration and to ensure resumption of hunger relief centres for providing hot cooked meals. However, Senior Advocate Sanjay Parikh, who was appearing for the Petitioner, submitted that that in the common rejoinder filed in response to the two affidavits filed by the Delhi Government, it has been specifically stated that there is still a requirement for provision of free cooked meals to hunger relief centres, for providing ration to non-PDS beneficiaries and for providing cooked food to those who are staying at night shelters. Subsequently, DLSA will be filing a status report on whether the said scheme for providing dry ration and running hunger relief camps shall be continued or not.
