As International Women's Day rolls around again, what's changed for women in Australia?

ABC

With last Friday's promotion of Linda Reynolds to the role of Defence Industry Minister, there are now more women than ever in federal cabinet. While the Prime Minister's numbers on the shrinking pay gap checked out, Fact Check found that it was not reasonable for the Government to claim the credit. Fact Check found that only one tranche of the Government's three tax-cutting measures was focused on people earning under $90,000, a group that is disproportionately made up of women. Deputy Leader of the Liberal Party, Josh Frydenberg, says that Prime Minister Scott Morrison's first cabinet has additional female representation. Fact Check found that in both raw number and proportional terms, it could be said that female representation had improved from Malcolm Turnbull's cabinet in the period directly preceding his removal from office.
