Show Me The Honey
ABCFIVE KIDS AND THEIR FAMILIES LEARN EVERYTHING THERE IS TO KNOW ABOUT CARING FOR THEIR OWN BEE COLONY This delightful new competition format follows four families from across the UK as they embark on a beekeeping, honey-making adventure, and learn everything there is to know about caring for a hive. In Show Me The Honey, BAFTA-winning presenter Maddie Moate and beekeeping expert Curtis Thompson put each ‘team’ through their paces at Bee School, where they will learn about topics such as the worker bees’ ‘waggle dance’, insect vision and bee surveys. ‘The Hive’ – the show’s very own social media platform – allows the teams to collaborate, share their experiences and bee keeping travails, ask questions of their beekeeping mentors and create their own beekeeping community. So it will be interesting to see who comes out on top, the city, suburban, or countryside teams?” The entertaining series captures all the ups and downs of beekeeping – from the joy of receiving the hives, bees and suits, through to the tribulations of maintaining the hives, up to its climactic final harvest – when the team who produces the best and sweetest tasting honey will be crowned ‘Beekeepers of the Year’. With green fingers and sticky hands, we want to inspire the next generation of eco-conscious youngsters to get outside, support our precious pollinators, and maybe even encourage them to try their hand at beekeeping with a local expert.’ – Maddie Moate Duration HD 7 x 30' Production Company Interstellar TV Genre Factual, Children's Producer David Atkin Director David Atkin Executive Producers David Williams, Hugh Lawton Cast Maddie Moate, Curtis Thompson
