95% of reservoirs in State up to brim, says Nimmala
The HinduMinister for Water Resources Nimmala Rama Naidu has said that 95% of reservoirs in the State are full, thanks to the copious rainfall received in recent months and the department’s preparedness to keep the water bodies ready for storage. Speaking to the media after inspecting the Gandikota reservoir in Jammalamadugu Constituency along with the local legislator C. Adinarayana Reddy here on Sunday, he recalled that the Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had always focussed on catching and storing every drop of water to ensure irrigation to the last field in the uplands. He attributed the filling up of 250 minor irrigation tanks in Kadapa districts to the proper water management strategies. Chief Engineer Srinivasulu, Superintending Engineers Mallikarjuna Reddy and Venkata Ramaiah, and Jammalamadugu RDO Sai Sree were among those present.
