11 dead after fruit truck overturns in Karnataka's Uttara Kannada

A truck carrying fruits and vendors overturned on NH-63 in Karnataka’s Uttara Kannada district in the early hours on Wednesday, killing 11 people and injuring 12 others. According to the Uttara Kannada Superintendent of Police M Narayana, the truck was taking the vendors and fruits from Savanur to a local fair being organised in Yellapura. The truck was carrying more than 30 people, all fruit vendors, from Savanur towards the Yellapura fair to sell fruits. They were traveling on the Savanur-Hubballi road when the accident occurred in a forested section and the truck fell into a valley at around 5.30 am, the police said.
