Here’s a look at what the Gaza ceasefire deal could entail: Hostages to be returned In the first stage, 33 hostages would be set free. Israel to free prisoners While Hamas will release hostages, Israel would have to free a significant number of Palestinian prisoners from its jails, including the ones serving long sentences for deadly attacks. It has also rejected the administration of Gaza by the Palestinian Authority, the Western-backed body set up under the Oslo interim peace accords three decades ago that exercises limited sovereignty in the occupied West Bank.
