Commonwealth Games 2018: Saurav Ghosal will hope to become first Indian to win singles medal in squash

Ghosal made his CWG debut in 2010, where he bowed out against Peter Barker in the third round. However, it was in the singles event that Ghosal made great strides as he went agonisingly close to becoming the first Indian man to win a medal at the CWG. Though India won their first-ever medal in squash at the CWG with the doubles pairing of Chinappa and Pallikal Karthik winning gold at the 2014 event, the quest for a singles medal continues. For someone who has broken a lot of barriers in squash for the country, it would be poetic justice if Ghosal could do one better and become the first Indian man to win that elusive medal at the Commonwealth Games in the 2018 edition at Gold Coast.
