Stand down: Mamata Banerjee's 'no interviews diktat' as Trinamool MPs squabble
Mamata Banerjee, Trinamool Congress chief and West Bengal Chief Minister, is "extremely upset" after videos of a public spat between MPs of her party were leaked. BJP’s IT cell incharge Amit Malviya, who posted videos and WhatsApp chats on X, claimed that senior Trinamool MP Kalyan Banerjee and another unidentified party lawmaker engaged in a heated argument. The video shared by Amit Malviya purportedly shows Kalyan Banerjee lashing out at the other lawmaker, who Saugata Roy claimed was Mahua Moitra, as Rajya Sabha MP Derek O’Brien tried to defuse the situation. pic.twitter.com/dsubQrmQUj— Amit Malviya April 8, 2025 TMC LEADERS REACT Saugata Roy and Kalyan Banerjee held separate press conferences on the controversy even as Mamata asked MPs to refrain from giving interviews.
