Big 12 Notebook: Facing an all-too-familiar adversity, TCU again finds a way

Faced with a 1-4 start and the loss of his starting point guard, TCU coach Jamie Dixon campaigned for president of the local Optimist Club. “I was trying to get a positive message across to our team,” Dixon said on Thursday’s Big 12 coaches teleconference. “We’ll have guys in different roles going forward.” Alex Robinson, a 6-1 junior guard who replaced Fisher during the NIT run, started against Iowa State and made history with 17 assists, a single-game school record.
