Commanders give DT Jonathan Allen permission to seek trade: Source
The Washington Commanders have given veteran defensive tackle Jonathan Allen permission to seek a trade, a team source said Tuesday. “Really everything’s still on the table in terms of whether it’s trade or staying here or whatever,” Commanders general manager Adam Peters said about Allen on Tuesday. Peters said Allen and Allen’s agent wanted to “be able to explore opportunities” for the player, and the team is letting them do that while maintaining daily contact with them. Already flush with salary-cap space — $75.48 million, per Over the Cap, following last week’s updated figure from the league — Washington would save an additional $16.47 million by releasing Allen.
