Patna HC Seeks Report On Implementation Of Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act [Read Order]

The Patna High Court has sought a report from the Central as well as the State Government, delineating the steps taken by them to implement the welfare provisions contained under Transgender Persons Act, 2019. The Division Bench comprising Chief Justice Sanjay Karol and Justice S. Kumar has also asked the Government to show steps taken for compliance with implementation of the directions issued by the Supreme Court in National Legal Services Authority v. Union of India. "The Principal Secretary, Social Welfare Department, Government of Bihar as well as Principal Secretary, Social Welfare Department, Government of India file an affidavit indicating the steps taken for full compliance of the provisions of the Transgender Persons Act, 2019 and the Rules framed thereunder, as also the directions issued by the Hon'ble Apex Court in the case of National Legal Services Authority v.
