Qantas removes expiry date on $570m worth of flight credits after backlash, as ACCC accuses airline of selling tickets for cancelled flights
ABCQantas has removed the expiry dates on $570 million worth of COVID travel credits owed to Australian and international customers that were issued up until September 30, 2021, which were due to run out at the end of the year. Despite this, Qantas did not remove the flight from sale until March 27, 2022, and did not inform existing ticketholders of the cancellation until March 28, 2022 to on June 4, 2022. Despite this, Qantas did not remove the flight from sale until March 15, 2022, and did not inform existing ticketholders of the cancellation until March 16, 2022 to on May 1, 2022. Despite this, Qantas did not remove the flight from sale until May 30, 2022, and did not inform existing ticketholders of the cancellation until May 31, 2022 to on June 8, 2022. Despite this, Qantas did not remove the flight from sale until February 24, 2022, and did not inform existing ticketholders of the cancellation until March 23, 2022 to on May 1, 2022.
