Zero tolerance for instigation under banner of 'democracy'

China Daily

Photo taken on Aug 5, 2019 shows China's national flag and the flag of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region on the Golden Bauhinia Square in Hong Kong, China. The High Court of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region delivered the sentence after a hearing at the West Kowloon Magistrates' Courts on Tuesday. In January 2021, Hong Kong police arrested more than 50 people under the national security law in Hong Kong on the suspicion of organizing or participating in the illegal "primary elections" of the Legislative Council in 2020. It also helps maintain justice and legal authority in the SAR, ensures the independence of Hong Kong's judicial system and safeguards national security and "one country, two systems".
