Govt panel approves use of Corbevax for 5-12 year age group
Expert panel of Drug Controller General of India -- India’s drug regulator-- has recommended granting emergency use authorisation for Biological E's Covid-19 vaccine Corbevax for children in 5 to 12 years age group. "The Subject Expert Committee on COVID-19 of the CDSCO which deliberated on Biological E's EUA application has recommended granting emergency use authorisation for use of Corbevax in the age group of five to 11 years," a source was quoted as saying by PTI. March, 2021: The next phase of Covid-19 vaccination commenced for people over 60 years of age and those aged 45 and above with specified co-morbid conditions. May, 2021: The government expanded its vaccination drive and allowed everyone above 18 years of age to be inoculated against coronavirus from May 1 last year.
