Isro’s 100th mission faces hurdle after tech glitch hits NVS-02 satellite. What's wrong?

According to the latest update by Isro, the NVS-02 navigation satellite, which was launched on Wednesday, could not complete its orbit-raising operations after it failed to ignite a fire in its onboard thrusters. The satellite was developed as part of Isro’s effort to create an independent regional navigation satellite system for India called ‘Navigation with Indian Constellation’ The NVS-02 satellite instead of progressing towards its intended geostationary orbit, has remained stuck in transfer orbit after the thrusters on board the spacecraft were not able to fire, explained Isro. Image courtesy: Isro The Indian Space Research Organisation’s 100th rocket mission has hit a roadblock after the NVS-02 navigation satellite, launched successfully on Wednesday, encountered a critical technical issue on Sunday. Following its launch on January 29, the NVS-02 satellite successfully entered a geosynchronous transfer orbit, an elliptical path typically used as a transition phase before satellites are manoeuvred into their final positions.
