Tangy nellikai sadam recipe for lunch

Nellikai Sadam is a South Indian rice dish made with gooseberries, similar to tomato rice or brinjal rice. Ingredients Gooseberries - 1/4 cup Cooked rice - 2 cups Turmeric powder - 1/8 tsp Salt to taste Oil - 1 tbsp Mustard seeds - 1 tsp Black gram - 1/4 tsp Bengal gram - 2 tsp Peanuts - 2 tbsp Red chillies, split - 2 Curry leaves - a few Asafoetida - a pinch Sesame oil - 1 tsp Preparation 1.Cook the rice in a way that the grains can be separated. Add black gram, Bengal gram, peanuts, red chillies, curry leaves and asafoetida. 5.Add cooked rice to the pan and mix well till the rice is well coated with the tempered items and gooseberries.
