Supreme Court to Examine Need for Comprehensive Guidelines on Coaching Centres' Safety

The Supreme Court has called for an examination of the need for comprehensive guidelines and policy to ensure safe working of coaching centres. The matter has been tentatively listed on November 18. The court will consider the issue in light of the recent tragic incident in Delhi where 3 students lost their lives. The court will also look into the legislative mandate of inclusive growth and the need for a uniform standard to be adopted by states/UTs to the extent possible. The court will also consider the measures to be taken for preventing such incidents in future and the suitable modification of the policy regime and suggestions, if any, in that direction.
