Fury in UK as JD Vance lobs new insult at America's top ally
Raw StoryVance has caused a new international incident by lobbing insults at the United States' top ally. The Murdoch-owned U.K. tabloid The Sun reports that Britons of all political stripes are denouncing Vance after he described their nation as "some random country that hasn't fought a war in 30 or 40 years" during an appearance on Fox News Monday night. "Vance needs to wind his neck in," said former Veterans Minister Johnny Mercer. “Show a bit of respect and stop making yourself look so unpleasant.” Shadow Defense Secretary James Cartlidge, meanwhile, accused Vance of being "deeply disrespectful for ignoring such service and sacrifice" of U.K. troops. Ex-Armed Forces Minister and veteran James Heappey reflected on his own military service and said that "serving with America and France were defining moments of my military career" and then added that it was "sad to hear the relationship reduced to this."
