Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel, H.D. Kumaraswamy, on Friday hit out at Minister in charge of Mandya district, N. Cheluvarayaswamy, over his comments, saying the Minister need not have to compliment him as he was not after publicity. Speaking to reporters in Maddur taluk, Mr. Kumaraswamy said the Minister had done a ground-breaking ceremony for a Central government project. If I were to be after publicity, by laying foundation stones, when he was the Chief Minister, there would have been umpteen number of stones in the State.” The Union Minister said he never did any work for publicity but as his responsibility. I do not want to give importance to petty politics,” he said, while replying to reporters’ queries.
