Hyderabad Cricket Association Elections | No Supreme Court Relief For Mohammed Azharuddin Against Removal From Voters List
Live LawFormer Indian cricket captain Mohammed Azharuddin filed an application in the Supreme Court challenging the removal of his name from the Hyderabad Cricket Association voters’ list by Single Member Committee. The Committee had struck off Azharuddin’s name on the basis of a letter submitted by Deccan Blues Cricket Club, which mentioned Azharuddin’s name as President of Deccan Blues Cricket Club. Court Room Exchange To begin with, Senior Advocate Kapil Sibal, appearing on behalf of Azharuddin, submitted that his client’s name has been excluded by the Committee on the ground that he happens to be a president of Deccan Blues Cricket Club. Thus, in this backdrop, the Supreme Court appointed former Supreme Court judge Justice L. Nageswara Rao as the single Member Committee to oversee the HCA elections.
