Islington charges diesel drivers extra £96 annual parking permit fee from today

Thousands of angry motorists face a controversial new 'diesel tax' levy of nearly £100 a year just to park outside their own door from today. It is designed specifically to penalise drivers of diesel cars which council chiefs say are more harmful to health, despite its own CO2 emissions-graded parking permit system favouring modern diesels.
