Milk chocolate or dark chocolate: Which one can reduce diabetes risk?

India Today

A new study suggests that choosing one type of chocolate could come with an unexpected health benefit: a lower risk of developing type 2 diabetes. After tracking their health over an average of 25 years, the study found that eating five or more servings of dark chocolate per week was linked to a 21% lower risk of developing type 2 diabetes. Flavanols, naturally occurring compounds also found in fruits and vegetables, have been linked to improved metabolic health and reduced risk of type 2 diabetes. While the association between dark chocolate and reduced diabetes risk is promising, other factors might also play a role.
