Australia's north is known for its endless, pristine beaches and unique wildlife. "The whole northern Australian coast gets covered in ghost nets, pretty much like spider webs. "A lot of marine life get caught up in them ghost nets," he said. "The money is well spent … 140 tonnes of debris has been removed and 800 ghost nets," she said. "Rangers have removed over 800 ghost nets and more than 1,137 cubic metres of marine debris, weighing more than 145,000 kilograms from hundreds of beaches and reefs in the Gulf of Carpentaria and Northern Australia."
