‘E-pass in Kodagu impracticable’

Is it possible to introduce an e-pass system as done in Udhagamandalam and Kodaikanal - South India’s top hill stations - in Kodagu to limit tourist vehicles? Such a suggestion came during a media interactive session with Deputy Director of Tourism, Kodagu, Anita Bhaskar, in Madikeri, where she said it was practically not possible to implement the system in the district. In view of this, it is not possible to introduce e-pass to restrict tourist vehicles to the hill station, she said, while replying to the suggestions. Also, steps have been taken for developing water sports at Honnamanna Kere and Kayaking at Ponnampet and other adventure sports for tourists in the district, Ms. Bhaskar said.
