Weakest Link contestant reveals how he 'cheated his way to final of BBC quiz'
The TelegraphA former contestant on The Weakest Link has revealed that he “blagged” his way to the final round by colluding with other participants. Green room realisation He details in his book, How to Get on Game Shows and Win £1000s, that before the show began filming in the early 2000s, he followed individual contestants to the studio’s lavatories where they made “secret” pacts not to evict each other. Mr Stratton said several disgruntled contestants, who had been culled from the quiz, noticed he had cheated while waiting for the show to end in the green room. “And I looked at the girl and I said, ‘Me and you in the final?’ And she said, ‘Yep’, and we voted this guy off.” ‘Collusion is not against the rules’ Mr Stratton said that contestants learnt of his scheme in the green room. “It’s just I did it with everybody, so everybody was annoyed with me.” Some of the game shows Mr Stratton has been on include: Greed, The Weakest Link, National Lottery: In It to Win It, Fear Factor, 24 Hour Quiz, Perseverance, Beg Borrow or Steal, It’s Not What You Know, Bullseye, Identity, Duel, Are You Smarter Than a Ten-Year-Old?, Who Wants to be a Millionaire?
