Scattered rainfall and mild weather to continue in several parts of the State on Sunday
The residents of the city were treated to mild weather on Saturday morning as temperatures dipped and light showers in a few areas cooled the air, offering a refreshing break from the recent warm spell. A cyclonic circulation that lies over southeast Bay of Bengal and a north-south trough that runs till north Tamil Nadu would ensure scattered rainfall in the State, which may be heavy in the Western Ghats districts on Sunday. In its bulletin, the Regional Meteorological Centre, Chennai, has said one or two places in north Tamil Nadu would get rainfall along with thunderstorms and gusty winds on Sunday. While sporadic rainfall over the State would continue over the State till April 11, the RMC has forecast a gradual rise in maximum temperature by two-three degree Celsius from April 7, marking the return of heat. Chennai is likely to receive light rainfall in some areas on Sunday and the day temperature would be around 33 or 34 degree Celsius.
