Kingscliff disability advocate harassed as Tweed hospital plan divides community

ABC

A prominent disability advocate says he has been called "fatty" and "porky" in abusive emails sent because he supports a controversial hospital planned for construction in northern NSW. "It made me feel pretty disappointed, people need to think about how much you can impact other people," he said, adding that he would not sway in his support for the hospital. "I'm shocked, I am really shocked that someone could send anyone a letter, let alone someone with a disability and make them feel so horrible about a decision they have made," she said. Mr Morrissey said he believes the community can overcome differences of opinion on the hospital, saying people in Kingscliff are "strong and love their families and friends."
