Schools reopening: Parents share mixed reactions in Punjab

Punjab Government on Saturday announced the opening of elementary schools from August 2, 2021, onwards. The school administration will also be required to follow a strict Covid-19 appropriate behaviour and will only allow fully inoculated teachers and other staff to enter the schools. Parents share their views about school reopening and online classes Kulwinder Kaur and Jaspal Singh are parents of Yuvraj Singh who is a student of the 4th standard. Like thousands of other parents, Kulwinder and Jaspal are also happy that the Punjab government has opened the elementary schools from Monday. The children do not pay attention to the online classes and start playing games on the mobile phone as soon as the parents divert their attention” says Kulwinder Kaur who lives near Boothgarh in Mohali.
