'Our Dream is To Have Indian-Made Chip in All Devices in World': PM Modi At Semicon India 2024

PM Modi on Wednesday inaugurated the three-day Semicon India 2024 at Greater Noida in Uttar Pradesh. India’s focus is to make its students and professionals semiconductor industry-ready,” PM Modi Stating that a total investment of over Rs 1.5 lakh crore has been committed for semiconductor manufacturing and many projects are in pipelines, PM Modi said, “Our dream is to have Indian-made chip in every device in the world.” He also said the country offers a unique proposition of a reformist government, a growing manufacturing base and a tech-oriented market. After many attempts finally it is under the PM Modi’s leadership that we succeeded in getting the industry in our country.” Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who was present at the event, “As result of the efforts taken by the Uttar Pradesh government in the past few years, about 50 per cent of the total mobilephone components are produced in the state. Today, the state has also been established at a hub for data centres.” Ajit Manocha, president of Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International, said we need to support the vision of achieving exponential growth in the semiconducted industry, which is good not just for India but for the whole world and the humanity.
