Loveyapa actor Kullu on whether influencers land roles due to social media fame

In recent years, a section of actors has voiced objections about how casting directors now also focus on social media followers count rather than pure talent when selecting artistes for certain parts. However, he added that in his own experience, he was also subjected to auditions and screen-tests, and only finalised after he fit the part, "If my casting happened due to my followers, I will try to build a bigger community, so that I get more roles," he added with a laugh. Kullu said, however, he does believe a social media presence plays a role in getting auditions, "They must have seen me somewhere and hence called me to test. I wouldn't know for sure, but I think apart from talent, a decent following may also help."
