Sir Keir Starmer voiced his support for legalising assisted dying yesterday, bringing campaigners a step closer to a change in the law. Sir Keir voted in favour of the last parliamentary bid to change the law in 2015, when he described the current ban on assisted dying as an 'injustice'. Dame Esther Rantzen asked politicians to grapple with the issue of assisted dying 'I personally do think there are grounds for changing the law. Sir Keir Starmer voiced his support for legalising assisted dying yesterday, bringing campaigners a step closer to a change in the law Dame Esther Rantzen has revealed that she has joined assisted-dying clinic Dignitas and will consider going there to end her life The Bishop of Buckingham, the Rt Rev Dr Alan Wilson, and former Archbishop of Canterbury, Lord Carey, are among senior church figures who submitted evidence to the health and social care committee's continuing inquiry supporting a law change.
