India TodayMembers of the Maratha community in Maharashtra continued to stage protests in different parts of the state on Tuesday, seeking Maratha reservations in government jobs and education under the OBC category. Visuals of the agitation showed protestors burning tires on the railway tracks, holding saffron flags, demanding reservation for the Maratha community. Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange has been continuing his indefinite fast in support of the reservation demand at Antarwali Sarati village in Jalna district since October 25. On Tuesday, he said that the Maratha community will not accept an "incomplete reservation" and the Maharashtra government should call a special session of the state legislature on the issue. Reacting to the ongoing situation in the state, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said, "The state government is positively working to solve Maratha quota issue."
