Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2 Jathara sequence censored in Saudi Arabia
India TodayPushpa 2: The Rule, starring Allu Arjun, has faced cuts in Saudi Arabia due to its depiction of Hindu deities. According to an X post by trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan, "Saudi Arabia's censor board trims the Jathara episode and allows the release after multiple cuts with a final run time of 3 hr 1 min ". Watch the teaser of Pushpa 2 here: Meanwhile, according to India Today’s review of Pushpa 2, the Gangamma Jathara epsiode in the film is defined as, “The Jathara sequence where Allu Arjun's Pushpa Raj is dressed in a saree and offering a ritual to Gangamma is the highlight of Pushpa 2. The entire episode has a trance-like dance, a romantic dance and culminates in a fight sequence.” The Gangamma Jathara is a vibrant and deeply rooted folk festival celebrated in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, to honour goddess Gangamma Talli, the local guardian deity.
