BU’s Learner Support Centres await UGC nod for conducting UG programmes, in ‘wait and watch’ mode to renew registration

Learner Support Centres for the Open and Distance Learning Programmes offered by Bharathiar University are apparently in ‘wait and watch’ mode for renewing their registration. The university faces an imperative situation of mobilising revenue from the programmes offered through online and open and distance learning programmes. University sources said the Syndicate has taken cognisance of the representations of students for reduction in the fee structure for distance education programmes. The university had revised the fee for the distance education programmes factoring in the necessity to conduct the programmes in semester mode by transitioning from the annual pattern.
