The HinduAndhra Pradesh Director General of Police Ch. Dwaraka Tirumala Rao inspected the Chirala 1 Town and Karamchedu police stations in Bapatla district on Friday, launching new facilities aimed at enhancing public safety and crime prevention. During his visit, the DGP inaugurated an integrated command and control system at the Chirala 1 Town police station, equipped with 210 CCTV cameras, a drone, 50 body-worn cameras, and a repeater system. He noted that 1,00,000 CCTV cameras would be installed across the State by March, with donor contributions encouraged to improve local surveillance. “We recently installed 1,150 cameras in Vijayawada, and this system has already helped solve critical cases swiftly, including a kidnapping incident and a drowning rescue at Suryalanka beach,” he added.
