'Crowned co-president': Elon Musk buried by House Dem for budget demands
Raw StoryX CEO Elon Musk on Wednesday moved to blow up a continuing resolution negotiated by Republicans and Democrats in the House of Representatives, which prompted one House Democrat to ask why the South African-born billionaire had any say in budgetary matters. Writing on Bluesky, Rep. Maxwell Frost hit back on Musk for threatening Republicans who voted in favor of the CR, which was negotiated by House Speaker Mike Johnson. After investing a hefty sum to help Trump get elected president this year, Musk founded the so-called Department of Government Efficiency with the stated goal of slashing $2 trillion from the federal budget. Regardless, Musk has been throwing his weight around and making demands of Republicans despite the fact that he was not elected to nor confirmed by the United States Senate to serve in any official government post.
