DMK revamps district units based on Assembly constituencies to accommodate various communities and youth

The ruling DMK’s high command on Thursday appointed secretaries/in-charge to new party district units in Erode, Tiruppur, Villupuram, and Madurai after revamping them on the basis of Assembly constituencies. As per the announcement made by party general secretary Duraimurugam, Housing and Urban Development Minister S. Muthusamy has been made in-charge of Erode South district which includes Erode East, West, and Modakurichi Assembly constituencies. N. Dineshkumar is in-charge-of Tiruppur North, and the district unit includes Avinasi and Tiruppur North Assembly constituencies. Former MP and Forest Minister K. Ponmudy’s son Gowthama Sigamani has been made in-charge-of Villupuram South and the district unit includes Tirukovilur and Vikravandi.
