With twin Brahmotsavams round the corner, TTD abuzz with activity
The HinduThe Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams management is abuzz with activity with two temples gearing up for Brahmotsavams over the next fortnight. As is the practice every year, the annual festival of Sri Kapileswara Swamy temple and Sri Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy temple would run concurrently this year as well. The Kapileswara Swamy temple event would be held from February 19 to 28, with the purificatory ritual ‘Koil Alwar Tirumanjanam’ scheduled to be held on February 15 and the initiatory ritual ‘Ankurarpanam’ on February 18. The major attraction at this temple is the public parading of the sacred ‘Lakshmi Haram’ and ‘Godhadevi garland’ in a colourful procession called ‘Sobha Yatra’ from Tirupati to the temple, covering a distance of 12 km. Mr. Veerabrahmam reviewed the progress in areas like flower decoration, queue line management, fire prevention arrangements, flex banners at all major intersections leading to the temples and serial lighting decorations of the deities installed in public places.
